THREAD: Anyone else tired of supplements tasting like candy? Sugar overload!Started by DewyDaphne

Ugh, just got my new gummy vitamins and they're basically candy with a vitamin label slapped on. 20g of sugar per serving?? I work night shifts and need something convenient that won't spike my blood sugar at 3am. Why can't they make these without all the junk? It's supposed to be a supplement, not dessert!

I feel you, but as a marathon runner, I actually appreciate the quick energy from the sugar sometimes during long training sessions. The convenience of not having to swallow pills mid-run is huge. Have you tried the sugar-free versions? They use stevia or monk fruit - not perfect, but better. Maybe look for softgels instead if you're worried about purity?

Sugar is poison to the body, period. The 'candy-fication' of supplements is a corporate trick to get people addicted. As a holistic healer, I recommend whole food sources or traditional capsules. Your body doesn't recognize these processed gummies as nutrition. Night shift or not, you're better off with a simple vitamin D capsule and real food.

EarthElias - I tried sugar-free ones but the aftertaste is awful, and they still have artificial stuff. Softgels are an option, but they're harder to find in the specific combo I need (B vitamins + melatonin). DewyDaphne134 - I get the whole food thing, but when you're exhausted at 4am after a 10-hour shift, peeling an orange isn't happening. There's gotta be a middle ground!

Fair points. Maybe check out brands like Pure Encapsulations - they have clean softgel options. Or what about making your own? Sounds extra, but I know runners who blend vitamins into homemade energy gels. Not for everyone though. Honestly, the market needs more low-sugar, natural gummies for people like you. Start a petition lol
