THREAD: Softgels vs. Gummies: Are We Just Eating Candy Now?Started by RhinoRich630

Hey all, just venting here. I switched to gummy vitamins a few months ago for convenience—no water needed, easy to take on my 6 AM commute. But I checked the label today and was shocked: 3g of sugar per serving! That's like a mini candy bar. Aren't supplements supposed to be healthy? Feels like we're just candy-fying everything for lazy people (myself included). Anyone else bothered by this?

Totally get it, RhinoRich630. I'm in the same boat—80-hour work weeks, grabbing gummies with my coffee. But yeah, the sugar thing bugs me. I tried switching back to capsules, but kept forgetting them. Maybe there's a middle ground? Are there any low-sugar or sugar-free softgels out there that don't taste awful? Convenience is key for us busy pros, but not at the cost of dumping sugar into our systems.

As a Paleo dieter, this drives me nuts. The whole point is to avoid processed sugars and artificial stuff. Gummies are basically junk food with vitamins sprayed on. If you're serious about health, stick to whole foods and maybe a basic pill or liquid supplement. Softgels? They're often cleaner—just gelatin and oil, no added sweeteners. But honestly, if you need a 'gummy' to remember your vitamins, maybe reevaluate your diet priorities. Just my two cents.

ZestZack288, fair point, but not everyone can go full Paleo. EarthElias440, I've seen some stevia-sweetened gummies, but they're pricier. Maybe I'll try softgels again and just set a phone reminder. Still, it's frustrating that companies push sugary options because they sell better. Are we really that addicted to sweet stuff?

Phone reminder is a good hack, RhinoRich630. And Zack, I hear you—purity matters. But in the real world, if a gummy gets me my vitamins daily vs. skipping them, isn't that a win? Maybe the answer is moderation: use gummies when traveling, softgels at home. Anyone found a brand that balances this well? Let's keep this practical for us non-Paleo folks!
