THREAD: Can I take Vitamin C gummies with my morning coffee? Safety check!Started by OP

Hey everyone, quick question! I've been taking these Vitamin C gummies every morning (the orange flavored ones from Nature's Way). I usually have them with my coffee right after breakfast. Is that okay? I've heard some supplements don't mix well with caffeine or certain foods. Anyone have experience with this combo? Thanks!

Good question, OP! From a biochemical perspective, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is water-soluble and generally safe with most foods. However, caffeine can slightly increase its excretion through urine, potentially reducing absorption efficiency. The acidity in coffee might also affect the gummy's formulation stability, but it's minimal. I'd recommend spacing them by 30 minutes if you want optimal absorption. Personally, I take my C gummies with water first thing, then coffee later.

Yo OP! I've been stacking my Vit C gummies with pre-workout coffee for years, no issues here. If anything, the energy boost from caffeine plus the immune support from Vitamin C helps me power through morning lifts. Just make sure you're not overdoing the sugar in those gummies if you're watching your diet. Pro tip: check the label for added ingredients that might not vibe with caffeine, but generally you're good to go. Stay fit!

As someone who does 16:8 intermittent fasting, timing matters! I take my Vitamin C gummies during my eating window (usually around noon) with a light meal, avoiding coffee altogether since it can mess with fasting states. Coffee + gummies might be fine safety-wise, but if you're fasting, be cautious—some gummies have calories/sugar that could break a fast. Just my two cents from the fasting community!
