Vitamin C Gummies: Do they melt in the car/plane? TSA? Any tips?
Hey all, I'm going on a road trip next week and then flying to a hiking spot. I want to bring my Vitamin C gummies but worried they'll melt in the car or get flagged by TSA. Anyone have experience? Also, any storage tips? I'm trying to pack minimal, so I don't want a huge container. Thanks!
Yo Uma! I travel with gummies all the time for CrossFit comps. They can melt if it's hot, so keep them in a cooler or at least out of direct sun. TSA is usually fine with gummies, just put them in your carry-on. I've never had an issue. But dude, if you're hiking, consider pills instead? Gummies get sticky. Just my 2 cents.
Oh man, this brings back memories! I used to take gummies on road trips with my family back in the 90s. They always melted into a blob in the glovebox. LOL. Now I just put them in a small ziplock and keep them in my backpack. TSA might swab them if they look suspicious, but usually they don't care. For hiking, maybe freeze them beforehand? Never tried but could work.
Thanks Frank and Ivy! So TSA is chill? I'll just keep them in my carry-on. And freezing is a good idea, I'll try that. But yeah, maybe pills are better for hiking. I'll see. Anyone else?
Just don't freeze them solid if they're the soft ones, they get weird. And if you're checking a bag, they might melt worse. Carry-on is the way. Also, if you're going through hot areas, get a small insulated pouch. They're cheap on Amazon. Good luck!
