Hey everyone! So I've been working remotely from Costa Rica for the past few months, and my sleep schedule has been a mess with all the time zone hopping. My doctor suggested trying Vitamin D gummies since I'm indoors a lot coding. Been taking them for about 3 weeks now... and okay, my sleep is SLIGHTLY better? But here's the weird thing - my skin is GLOWING. Like, people are commenting on it. I haven't changed my skincare routine at all! Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe it's the tropical humidity? But I've been here awhile and this just started with the gummies.

OMG Nancy, same!! I started taking vit D gummies last month because my corporate job has me in windowless conference rooms 10hrs/day and I was feeling so drained. My therapist actually suggested them for mood support during this hectic quarter. Sleep improvement has been minimal for me too, but my stress levels? Way down. I used to have this constant tightness in my shoulders and now it's just... gone. My partner says I'm less irritable too lol. Maybe the skin thing is related to reduced inflammation? I've read vit D helps with that.

Retired nurse here - this is fascinating to hear! In my 40 years of nursing, we primarily recommended Vitamin D for bone health and immune function. But the research has evolved. Vitamin D receptors are actually found in skin cells, and adequate levels can improve skin barrier function and reduce inflammation. Nancy, your skin improvement could very well be legitimate. Mila, the stress reduction makes sense too - Vitamin D plays a role in serotonin production. What dosage are you both taking? And are you taking them with food? Absorption matters.

Another retired nurse chiming in! Xenon is absolutely right. I want to add that many people are chronically deficient without realizing it. The 'unexpected benefits' you're describing are probably your bodies finally getting what they need. I've seen patients report better mood, less joint pain, even improved hair quality after correcting deficiencies. But please remember - while gummies are convenient, they often contain sugar. If you're taking high doses long-term, consider getting levels checked. So glad you're both feeling better though! The skin and stress improvements are wonderful bonuses.

Wow, thank you both nurses! That's super helpful. I'm taking 2000 IU daily, usually with my morning smoothie. MindfulMila564 - the inflammation theory makes sense! My skin does feel less 'reactive' somehow. Maybe I'll try to get my levels checked next time I'm back in the States. For now, I'm just thrilled with this unexpected benefit. Who knew gummies could do more than just help bones? Still hoping the sleep improves more, but I'll take the glow for now 😊
