THREAD: Weird side effect from Vitamin D gummies? Anyone else?Started by OP

Hey all, been taking these Vitamin D gummies for about 2 weeks now (brand is SunnyDrops, got them at the health store). They taste fine and I feel okay energy-wise, but I've been having the most VIVID dreams lately. Like, full-on movie plots every night. Not scary or anything, just super detailed and weird. Has anyone else experienced this with Vitamin D gummies? Is this normal or should I be concerned?

lol, vivid dreams? That's your brain telling you to stop wasting money on overpriced candy. Vitamin D is in sunlight and food - you don't need gummies. Those 'side effects' are probably just placebo or your body reacting to all the artificial junk in there. Save your cash and go for a walk instead.

Before we jump to conclusions, what's the sugar content in those SunnyDrops? If they're using regular sugar or corn syrup, that could be disrupting your sleep cycle. I only use sugar-free Vitamin D gummies (SweetFreedom brand) and I've never had dream issues. Maybe try switching to a sugar-free option? Also, are you taking them at night? That might be the problem.

Greg's right - supplements are mostly unregulated garbage. But if you're gonna take them anyway, vivid dreams are harmless. My cousin took some melatonin gummies once and dreamed he was a squirrel collecting nuts for winter. Woke up exhausted. At least Vitamin D won't do that. Still think you're better off without them though.

Interesting! I've been meditating before bed (just started last month) and my dreams have gotten more vivid too. Maybe it's not the gummies but just being more aware? Though I do take Vitamin D gummies (the chewable kind) and haven't noticed extra dreams. Could be a combination of things? Have you tried tracking when you take them vs. your dream intensity?
