THREAD: Weird side effect from Vitamin D gummies - anyone else?Started by OP

Hey everyone, started taking these Vitamin D gummies about 2 weeks ago (brand: SunnyDrops). They taste great and I feel more energetic, but I've been having super vivid dreams every night! Like, last night I dreamt I was a squirrel collecting gummy vitamins in a forest. It's not scary or anything, just really intense and memorable. Has anyone else experienced something like this with Vitamin D gummies? Is this normal?

Interesting observation, OP! From a scientific perspective, Vitamin D is involved in regulating sleep cycles and brain function. While vivid dreams aren't a commonly reported side effect in clinical studies, individual neurochemical responses can vary. The gummy format might include other ingredients like melatonin precursors in the gelatin or sweeteners that could interact. Check the label for additives - sometimes it's not the Vitamin D itself but the delivery system. I'd recommend tracking your sleep patterns and maybe try taking them in the morning instead of bedtime?

My grandmother would say this is your body 'adjusting to the nutrients.' She swore by cod liver oil (the original Vitamin D source!) and always said any new supplement could cause 'sleep disturbances' for a few weeks. Personally, I stick to traditional pills - fewer additives. But if the dreams aren't troubling you, I'd say give it another week or two. The body has its own wisdom about these things.

OMG YES! I had something similar but different - with my Vitamin D gummies (BerryBlast brand), my taste buds went weird for like 3 days. Suddenly cucumbers tasted sweet and coffee tasted metallic! Went back to normal though. Maybe it's something in the flavorings or sweeteners? What flavor are yours, OP? The citrus ones seem to have more 'reaction' reports in my experience. Also - squirrel dream sounds awesome, wish mine were that creative!
