THREAD: Saw a study on Ashwagandha - is Goli's KSM-66 really that effective?Started by PurePete421

Hey all, just stumbled on this study (PMID: 12345678) claiming KSM-66 ashwagandha significantly reduces stress and improves sleep quality in adults. It was funded by the supplement company that makes KSM-66 though... makes me skeptical. I've been taking these Goli gummies for a month now - mixed berry flavor is decent, but I'm wondering if it's just placebo? Anyone else read up on this or tried making their own ashwagandha extracts? I'm tempted to DIY it with some organic root powder I found online.

omg i need this to be real lol. been surviving on 4hrs of sleep since my toddler decided 3am is party time. tried the gummies last week - taste is okay, not too sugary. if it helps even a little with stress, i'll take it. but yeah, funding bias is sketch. anyone know if there are independent studies? also, does vitamin D in these actually do anything or is it just marketing? too tired to research rn zzz

As a granola parent, I appreciate that Goli is vegan and non-GMO - that's why I chose it for our family. I haven't dug into that specific study, but I've read other research suggesting ashwagandha can support cortisol balance. We've been using these gummies for my teen during exam season, and she seems calmer. However, I always take industry-funded studies with a grain of salt. Maybe check PubMed for meta-analyses? Also, the 5-pack is cost-effective if it works.

Marathon runner here - I use these for recovery and stress management. KSM-66 is a patented extract, so it's standardized, which I trust more than random powders. That study might have bias, but there's solid evidence on ashwagandha for athletes. I've noticed better sleep and less post-run inflammation since starting these. The vitamin D is a bonus for bone health. Maybe cross-reference with other PMIDs? Also, the mixed berry doesn't upset my stomach mid-training, which is key.
