Traveling with Luna Kids sleep gummies - will they melt in my carry on?? TSA ok?
Hey all, heading out on a redeye next week with my 6yo and we rely on the Luna Kids gummies to get her to sleep on planes (and honestly at grandmas house too lol). Question is can I throw the bottle in my carry on or will they turn into one giant berry blob? Also does TSA care about melatonin gummies? I fly with a ton of gadgets and they never blink but never tried bringing these. Any storage hacks appreciated, we've got a 6hr flight then a 2hr drive.
Hey Mike! So I actually travel with these constantly for my kiddos and for content trips. Short answer: yes they CAN melt if it gets hot, they're a pectin/vegan gummy so they soften way faster than regular gelatin ones. I always keep them in my personal item, NOT the checked bag, because cargo holds and hot cars are murder on gummies. Grab a small insulated snack pouch or even just double ziplock them. If they do stick together just pop the bottle in the fridge at the hotel and they mostly separate again, been there lol. TSA treats them like any other candy/gummy, no issues, I've never had them even look twice. Just don't bring a giant Costco size stash and act weird about it 😂
following bc I'm doing a road trip to Utah next month and was literally wondering the same thing. One thing I'd add - those "cooler" style pouches only work if its not sitting in a hot car all day. I'd skip leaving them in the glovebox, saw a friends gummies melt into a puddle that way. Also fwiw I read somewhere valerian can smell kinda funky when it gets warm, anyone notice that with these?
@MountainMike266 honestly yeah you can catch a slightly herby smell when the bottle is warm, it's the valerian + chamomile. Doesn't bother my kids but I notice it. Not a big deal, goes away once they cool down. And 100% agree on the glovebox, that's the worst spot. Toss em in a lunchbox with a cold pack if your drive is long.
