My 5-year-old thinks these are gummy bears! Help!
Okay, I need to vent. I bought these OLLY Extra Strength Daily Energy gummies for myself bc I've been dragging lately. I kept them on the counter, thinking my 5-year-old wouldn't touch them. WRONG. He saw the bottle, called them 'gummy bears,' and before I knew it, he had eaten like 4 of them. I panicked, called poison control, and they said he'd probably just get a tummy ache and maybe feel jittery. He's fine, but I'm a nervous wreck. How do you guys keep these away from kids? I thought the 'supplement' label would be enough, but no.
Oh no! That's my worst nightmare. I have to hide my gummies in the back of the pantry behind the canned goods. My kids are older (10 and 12) but they still try to sneak them because they look like candy. The berry yuzu flavor is addictive too. Maybe invest in a lockbox or keep them in a high cabinet. And definitely talk to your pediatrician if you're worried. But glad he's okay!
I feel you! My husband did the same thing with my magnesium gummies – he thought they were fruit snacks! Now I have to label everything with big 'NOT CANDY' stickers. But on a side note, have you tried these? I'm on keto and I heard the sugar content is low, but I'm worried about the carbs. How many net carbs per gummy? Are they worth it?
Thanks for the support! @CrystalCathy729, I think a lockbox is my next purchase. And @EcoEllen151, I'm not keto, but I checked the label – I think they have 2g of carbs and 1g of sugar per gummy. Not too bad? But they do have CoQ10 and B12, so they're pretty potent. Maybe just stick to one a day and see how your body reacts. And yes, the flavor is dangerously good – that's the problem!
