Okay, I need to share this before I laugh/cry myself into a puddle. I keep my OLLY Extra Strength Energy gummies on the kitchen counter (the berry yuzu ones - 1000mcg B12, CoQ10, all that jazz). My 4-year-old spotted the bottle yesterday and goes 'MOMMY CANDY!' before I could blink. Grabbed the bottle, shook it like a maraca, and demanded 'purple candy NOW.' I had to wrestle it away while explaining they're 'mommy's special vitamins.' Now he keeps asking when he can have 'the noisy candy.' Anyone else have kids who think supplements are treats? Should I be hiding these better?

CrystalCathy - First, that berry yuzu flavor IS dangerously candy-like! I tried these gummies last month and the flavor profile is actually sophisticated - real berry notes with that citrusy yuzu finish. No wonder your kid was fooled. Texture-wise though, they have that distinct 'supplement chew' - slightly firmer than regular gummies. Maybe let him try ONE (obviously not the actual supplement, but a similar texture candy) to show him the difference? My niece refused my probiotic gummies because she said they felt 'weird and sticky' compared to her fruit snacks.

As a yoga instructor, I keep all supplements in childproof containers HIGH up. My partner once mistook my ashwagandha gummies for 'weird gummy bears' and ate half the bottle before realizing. Not dangerous in that case, but with caffeine-free energy supplements like yours, the B12 dose is for adults. Maybe try a lockbox? On the bright side - at least they're not the gelatinous kind some brands have. Those have such a strange mouthfeel even adults sometimes struggle!

Weekend warrior here - my husband did the SAME THING with my pre-workout gummies! He thought they were 'leftover Halloween candy' and ate three before complaining they tasted 'too healthy.' I was like YES DEAR THAT'S THE POINT. Now I put a big 'ADULT VITAMINS - NOT CANDY' label on the bottle. Works for kids AND spouses apparently. Also side note - do you find the OLLY ones give you decent energy without caffeine? I've been using them for my Saturday long runs.

BioBob - You're right about the texture! My kid is super particular about textures (won't eat bananas if they have a single spot), so maybe showing him the difference would help. HubermanHopeful834 - Lockbox is smart, ordering one now. CrystalCathy413 - LOL at the spouse story! And yes, the B12+CoQ10 combo gives me clean energy for marathon training without the caffeine jitters. My 4-year-old is now telling everyone at preschool about 'mommy's special noisy candy.' Sigh.
